Et pour cause, ayant moi-même essayé le logiciel, je le trouvais bien trop limité. Pourtant, il arrive qu'on trouve des jeux dessus. Parallel Worlds doit certainement être l'un des premiers... et quelle surprise ! Auteur Euclid Année 2006 Support Rom de A link to the past Hyrule Magic Langue Anglais ScénarioVous êtes un chasseur de trésor d'un autre pays. Vous avez bougé ici avec votre ami, afin de trouver des trésors bien sûr ! Beaucoup de choses ont commencé à arriver peu de temps après avoir emménagé ici. Sept personnes sorties de nulle part sont questionnés au sujet de la Tour parallèle par les habitants du village Kakariko. La Tour parallèle se trouve dans les îles célestes au nord-est du village. La légende concernant cette tour a été perdue, et les anciens savaient la légende. Word commence à diffuser des informations sur le Tour parallèle, et les gens ont commencé à en apprendre davantage sur la légende. La légende dit qu'elle a été le produit d'une longue guerre et qu’il y a un pouvoir, connu sous le nom de Triforce, qui existait au sommet de celle-ci. On raconte que personne ne connaît les indices sur la façon d'arriver en haut de la Tour, et que les sept personnes connaissent ces "indices" de la Tour. Le roi a été informé de l'existence de ces sept personnes et il les invite au château pour savoir ce qu'ils voulaient avec la tour. Juste la nuit avant laquelle les sept personnes ont eu une audience avec le roi, son assistant, Draegor, élimine le roi et réclame le trône par défaut. Les sept personnes ont foncé dans un piège évident. Draegor, a capturé les 7 personnes et les oblige à lui dire ce qu'ils savent au sujet de la Tour. Lorsque le peuple apprit le sort du roi, une force rebelle se rassembla secrètement pour comploter contre Draegor. La force rebelle apprit que deux personnes capturées par Draegor sur les sept sont encore en vie et emprisonnés dans la maison de garde. Ils ont rapidement rallié tous ceux qui pouvaient être intéressés par la Tour et les habitants pour aider ces dernières 2 personnes. Vous et votre ami avez entendu parler de ce plan et êtes prêts à aider les rebelles à combattre Draegor. La nuit de l'opération commence l'histoire... Avant de commenter le scénario, il faut savoir que Hyrule Magic, le logiciel permettant de hacker la rom, impose quand même des limites, aussi bien au niveau du gameplay que du scénario certains événements sont programmés dans le cadre de A Link to the Past, aussi est-il assez difficile de se démarquer du scénario du jeu original. Et pourtant, on a bel et bien un scénario original, qui présente peu de similitudes avec le jeu d’origine. Ce scénario est par ailleurs assez riche. Un nouveau monde à explorer. GraphismesOuais, pour un fan-game Zelda, on va encore avoir droit à des rips de A Link to the Past... pourquoi se priver, d’autant plus qu’on traficote le jeu d’origine ? Eh bien non c’est loupé. Car les graphismes sont bel et bien originaux non seulement les graphismes d’extérieur et certains personnages ont été refaits en donnant un rendu plus réaliste et très agréable à regarder, mais de plus, ils permettent l’apparition de zones inédites dans le jeu d’origine, ainsi que des décors plus variés. Regardez par exemple le monde enneigé et dites sincèrement ce que vous en pensez... magnifique, non ? Il est juste un peu dommage que les graphismes d’intérieur soient encore similaires et parfois incohérents par exemple, dans le passage d’un étage de donjon à un autre, la couleur des murs change brusquement, mais l’extérieur est en tout cas très bien fait. Il neige !!! Musiques Les musiques de A link to the Past étaient plutôt bien faites... c'est pourquoi elles sont toujours dans le jeu. Bien que quelques musiques aient fait leur apparition, comme le thème de Zelda 1, il y a eu peu d'innovation de ce côté, mais il y en a eu il faut dire aussi qu'éditer ou créer une musique sous Hyrule Magic n'est pas aussi simple qu'importer un fichier audio... Gameplay Généralement, les modifications de gameplay pour les hacks sont moins nombreuses, étant donné que le jeu, à la base, avait déjà un gameplay "professionnel". Pourtant, ici, on retrouve quand même des modifications, certes assez discrètes et pas particulièrement révolutionnaires, mais elles doivent tout de même être soulignées. Par exemple, la réorganisation de l'HUD, qui affiche différemment l'énergie magique sous forme de barre horizontale, l'item sélectionné on remarque aussi que le nombre de flèches et de bombes disponibles ne s'affiche que si elles sont équipées, le nombre de rubis qui semble ne plus être limité à 999 et de clés qui ne sont pas spécifiques à chaque donjon. Cette réorganisation concerne aussi le menu, différemment disposé, même si, dans l'absolu, ça ne change pas la jouabilité. Sans oublier les nouveautés pour les donjons si la carte et la boussole ne sont plus disponibles en raison d'une limite d'Hyrule Magic, une clé a été rajoutée, permettant d'ouvrir les Grands Coffres, alors que la Grande Clé se contente juste d'ouvrir les Grandes Portes ; et le bouton qui, à l'origine, servait à afficher les cartes de donjon, a un nouvel usage que je vous laisse découvrir dans le jeu. Par ailleurs, il existe également d'autres objets trouvables dans les donjons de l'autre monde, mais à quoi servent-ils ? C'est un secret... que vous pourrez cependant percer une fois que vous aurez très bien avancé dans le jeu. Et le tout... pratiquement sans bugs à relever. Vraiment impressionnant, vu qu'Hyrule Magic a parfois tendance à buguer facilement... en fait, on peut relever quelques coquilles sur certains graphismes de portes, mais c'est tout... Difficulté Cela semble trop beau pour être vrai ? Eh bien oui... le jeu a un niveau de difficulté très élevé, voire parfois exagéré. Cependant, la difficulté se manifeste plutôt dans les donjons du jeu, pratiquement aussi nombreux que ceux de A link to the Past. Certes, certains choix volontaires comme un premier donjon pratiquement sans épée, des boss qui ne donnent pas de réceptacle de coeur ou l'ajout d'une clé pour les grands coffres sont originaux et donnent plus de cachet au jeu ; certes, on peut passer au travers de certaines limites d'Hyrule Magic comme l'édition des cartes de donjons trop limitée. De ce côté-là, même si ça ajoute de la difficulté, on ne s'en plaint pas, puisque ça ajoute également de l'originalité au jeu. Ce qui, par contre, est plus contestable, sont les autres éléments, comme par exemple l'architecture des donjons alors que certains donjons impliquent des allers-retours lassants en particulier le premier donjon, d'autres sont de véritables labyrinthes mais dans des styles variés un spécial téléporteurs, un spécial trous, un spécial "à la LoZ 1"... où il n'y a pratiquement aucun indice pour vous aider, et pour finir, ce n'est pas très amusant de devoir refaire un même donjon deux ou trois fois de suite allusion à la fameuse "Parallel Tower". De quoi mettre les nerfs à rude épreuve. De plus, l'organisation du jeu laisse parfois à désirer on peut se retrouver bloqué parce qu'on a oublié de prendre un objet nécessaire à la suite, mais qu'on ne peut plus récupérer car on ne peut plus revenir en arrière par exemple, le boomerang bleu car on ne peut plus revenir dans le donjon où on a oublié de le prendre mais c'est légitime, puisque pour l'avoir, il fallait faire un aller-retour . Un autre exemple est l'organisation du deuxième monde même s'il n'est pas nécessaire de faire les sept donjons avant d'aller directement à la "Parallel Tower", l'un des rares coups de pouce du jeu indique un ordre conseillé pour les faire, bien qu'ils soient plus ou moins indépendants les uns des autres. Eh bien devinez quoi il complique les choses, car même si les donjons sont tous plus ou moins indépendants, il est préférable d'en faire certains avant d'autres pour avoir des objets utiles voire indispensables par exemple, la baguette de feu pour vaincre Kholdstare... et si on suit l'ordre indiqué, on se rend compte qu'on bloque très vite ! Résultat tout le monde n'est pas un hardcore gamer, et donc tout ce que le jeu y gagne pour ces gens-là, c'est une baisse considérable du plaisir. Et ça semble parfois mission impossible d'arriver à finir le jeu sans avoir eu recours à des codes de triche ou à des solutions trouvées sur Internet... et là encore, tricher gâche le plaisir et la satisfaction personnelle même si parfois, en trichant, ça ne reste toujours pas aussi simple.... Cela dit, les hardcore gamers sauront sans doute y trouver leur pourrait être l'archétype du jeu, mais heureusement, tous les boss ne ressemblent pas à ce genre de compilation... Durée de vie La durée de vie est quand même, du coup, assez longue, voire plus que celle du jeu original forcément, avec la difficulté, on reste souvent des heures bloqué à un certain endroit. Mais de plus, le jeu propose aussi une seconde quête ! Le hic, c’est qu’elle est censée être encore plus dure que la première... alors on peut ne pas avoir le courage de la faire, bien qu'elle soit plus courte. Cependant, en la faisant, il est possible qu'on s'aperçoive que peu de choses changent, alors que les nouveautés par rapport à la première quête apparaissent un peu plus loin. Ce serait donc un exemple de jeu qui a un... excès de durée de vie ? Ce serait assez paradoxal, mais en tout cas, les joueurs occasionnels ne seraient sans doute pas très tentés... mais les joueurs férus et acharnés se régaleront peut-être. Conclusion Un jeu qui se détache quand même beaucoup du jeu original malgré certaines références cependant voulues et qui mérite un coup d’œil de la part des fans de Zelda, mais aussi des autres... Finalement, le jeu est de très bonne qualité et mérite d'être remarqué également par le fait que c'est l'un des rares hacks de A Link to the Past faits sous Hyrule Magic que je connaisse, et ses défauts la difficulté, pour ne pas les citer, ne dépendent même pas d'Hyrule Magic, ce qui peut sembler étonnant vu qu'il a tendance à buguer parfois assez facilement... Mount Tamaranch How to Read the Dark Secrets and Mysteries of Koholint’ If you head to Mount Tamaranch and enter the Wind Fish’s Egg you will find yourself in an endless dungeon with no clear path forward. You should head to the library in Mabe Village first instead – if you visited there at the beginning of the game, you may remember a book in the lower right corner that you couldn’t yet read. The key to reading this book is the Magnifying Lens item. If you do not yet have this item, please read the trading sequence recap below and return when you are done. Push them in the order indicated clockwise, starting in the lower right and in the directions indicated by the arrows. We’ll let you tackle this one on your own – get to the end and you can choose between a red tunic doubles attack power or a blue tunic doubles defence power. Wind Fish’s Egg Walkthrough Entering the Wind Fish's Egg The path to Mount Tamaranch can be found up the first ladder by the cliffs above Manbo’s Pond. Climb the ladder and walk all the way up to the egg at the peak. En route to the Turtle Rock, the Owl mentioned that Marin had made her own attempt to wake the egg – by singing the Ballad of the Wind Fish. Play your own rendition with the Ocarina learnt from Marin. As you continue your Ocarina song, the Siren’s Instruments you claimed from Koholint’s Eight Dungeons begin playing along. Suddenly, cracks appear in the Egg – forming a doorway. The owl lands atop the egg and encourages you onward The time has come… The Wind Fish awaits… Enter the egg… Hoot! Hoot! Wind Fish's Egg Maze Directions Head up in starting screen and then drop into the abyss in the next room. Once you land, head upwards again. Next, you will journey through a series of identical looking, four-exit rooms. This is where you should follow the sequence of directions you read in the “Dark Secrets and Mysteries of Koholint” again, as mentioned above, these are generated when starting the game, so you will have to read them yourself in the Mabe Village library. If you follow the correct sequence of directions, the ninth room will contain a hole in the ground and you will hear a chime confirming that you’re in the right place. Step into the abyss to enter the boss chamber. Defeating the Shadow Nightmare As you arrive in the boss’ chamber, a voice calls out to you We were born of nightmares… To take over this world, we made the Wind Fish sleep endlessly! If the Wind Fish doesn’t wake up, this island will never disappear! We would have been the masters of this place… But you had to come here and disrupt our plans! Heh heh! You can never defeat us! Let's rumble! Something pitch black forms below Link’s feet and sneaks to the opposite side of the room, reconstituting itself into a ball of darkness and shadow – this is the Shadow Nightmare, and its gimmick will be to take the form of familiar enemies and bosses across five forms, each with a different attack pattern and weakness. The first form bounces around the room like a Zol the common blob enemy, however it is apparently impervious to all of your weaponry simply disappearing with no sign of a hit. Your key tool is your magic powder. Chuck some powder as it lands and it will soon take on its second form. The second form is the shadow of Link to the Past’s Agahnim – he will throw a red ball of magic at you which can be deflected back with your sword, provided you are facing the shadow. Sometimes four smaller magic balls will be thrown your way – these cannot be deflected and should be dodged/jumped instead. The third form is a repeat of the Moldorm miniboss, though it is stronger overall and moves quicker in its critical phase. Hit the end of its tail to send it packing. Form number four is the Shadow of Ganon. He will twirl his double-ended trident and summon several blazing bats for Link to dodge. Once the bats have been avoided, he will throw the trident, spinning it in place – use this opportunity to aim a pegasus boot-enabled dash attack straight at him. In the fifth phase, the shadow nightmare returns to a blob-like form, leaving a trail behind it as it slides across the floor. Charge a spin attack to damage it. Defeating the Final Boss’s Final Form, Dethl Finally, the shadow will take on its ultimate form – a huge, usually closed eye set in a large body with two spiked arms that sweep up and down. The goal is to wait for the eye to open and shoot it with an arrow or the boomerang while jumping over the arms as they move. Once you’ve done enough damage, the defeated Shadow Nightmare will mournfully say This island is going to disappear… Our world is going to disappear… Our world… Our… world… Ending Cutscenes And that’s it – you’ve completed Link’s Awakening. The Owl calls to you, unseen …Link, you have beaten all the Nightmares! Climb the stairs before you! Stairs appear at the top of the screen and you automatically climb them. The Owl hovers above a platform in a starry sky. Hoot! Young lad… I mean, Link, the hero! You have defeated the Nightmares! You have proven your wisdom, courage, and power! … … … … As part of the Wind Fish’s spirit… I am the guardian of his dream world… But one day, the nightmares entered the dream and began wreaking havoc. Then you, Link, came to rescue the island… I have always trusted in your courage. I knew that you could turn back the nightmares. Thank you, Link… My work is done… The Wind Fish will wake soon. Goodbye… Hoot! A circling seagull squawks and Link wakes at last, draped on a part of his destroyed ship. Suddenly, the Wind Fish flies overhead and Link watches it fly off over the horizon. The credits roll. Bonus Scene If you managed to complete the game without dying being revived by the secret medicine is allowed, you will see a smiling Marin against the sky, singing the Ballad of the Wind Fish. A bird – perhaps the seagull she wished to be – flies off into the blue. Completed Save File You can reload your completed save file to mop up any of the last secrets heart pieces and secret seashells, dungeon challenges or other side-tasks you haven’t yet completed. It was a stunning game – not just because of its general high quality, but also because it was released at a time when most games still followed the arcade method of providing a number of linear stages. Going from Pac-Man’s labyrinths or Donkey Kong’s stack of girders to an entire explorable landmass was revolutionary at the following up with Zelda 2 The Adventure of Link opens in new tab which was also well-loved, but divided gamers with its side-scrolling action and RPG-style levelling up elements, all eyes were focused on Nintendo to see how it would evolve the Zelda series with its next console, the significantly more powerful SNES. Link’s trusty hookshot, the device responsible for countless head-scratching dungeon puzzles over the years, also appeared here first, as did the speed-enhancing Pegasus Boots and the Ocarina although the latter didn’t truly come into its own until the aptly named Ocarina of Time arrived on the Nintendo 64.Link’s room-clearing spin attack was born on SNES, as was the way he swings his sword in an arc, rather than simply stabbing it meaning he can attack opponents slightly off to the side of him, instead of always having to face them head-on, as in the first Zelda game. Then there are the ever-elusive pieces of heart – tucked away in hard-to-find locations and useless until you find four of the blighters to make a full heart container – which also made their first appearance. Truly, ALTTP wrote the winning recipe for the adventures to A Link To The Past is packed with memorable moments from start to finish, the ones that startled me and many other gamers mostly took place in what Nintendo lead us to believe was the final stretch of the game. Link’s mission appears straightforward at first in order to defeat the evil Agahnim he has to claim the Master Sword, but to prove that he’s worthy to yank the illustrious weapon from its resting place he first has to find and retrieve the three magic pendants scattered throughout Hyrule. Since these mystic gewgaws are dotted far and wide and collecting them earns Link the Master Sword, I reasoned that the final step was to break into Hyrule Castle and give Agahnim a righteous kicking.
